From Iguazú!

From the humbleness of mankind in Buenos Aires to the power of Mother Nature in Iguazú Falls.
Iguazú Falls are spectacular waterfalls with over 250 drops that expand over 2.3 km between Argentina and Brazil. What an incredible experience of unbelievably beautiful scenery and rich wildlife!
Fortunate enough to be able to stay at the only hotel inside the National Park surrounded by rainforest and waterfalls, we have hiked freely to enjoy every path and every angle of this natural wonder.
The volume of water flowing, the breathtaking jumps and the furious sound of the falls are captivating and mesmerizing. Seeing to believing… Not to mention the zillion shades of green that the rainforest has offered us: endless forests of trees and plants, vines and leaves of all shapes and sizes. Magic downpours and dramatic clouds.
We have also spotted monkeys, coatis and even toucans! Sadly no jaguars… but given our location we were not allowed to leave the hotel after sundown which is when jaguars are active 😉
We think we may hop over to Uruguay next… we’ll see!

Buenos Aires, here we are!

What a week! So much has happened in the 7 days since we left Santa Monica… We have fallen in love with Buenos Aires: kind people, exquisit cuisine, unbelievable wine, art and culture in every corner, beautiful architecture… such a lively city!
Hard to explain with words what it is like to be invited, hosted and taken care of by the US Ambassador to Argentina and his unbelievable team of hard working, generous, respectful and fun individuals.
Cheers to the amazing evening celebrating 4th of July at the Ambassador’s residence and to the wonderful people like Alejandro and Belen, Brandon, Melissa, Marcela, Linda, Geno, Enrique… so many! that we were lucky enough to meet there. Thank you Noah, Miquela, Hector, Daniel, Ezequiel, Gladys, Marta y Andrés. We miss you already!
We are sad to leave the Ambassador’s residence but we live inspired by his humble personality. What a great lesson for the kids and a good reminder for us, adults, that regardless of where society places us we are all human beings deserving of respect, acknowledgment and kindness.
See you in Iguazu!
